Januária of Brazil (also Januária Maria Joana Carlota Leopoldina Cándida Francisca Xavier de Paula Micaela Gabriela Rafaela Gonzaga de Bragança ; born March 11, 1822 in Rio de Janeiro , † March 13, 1901 in Nice ) was a princess of Brazil and Infanta of Portugal .

Life

Januária was the daughter of the first emperor of Brazil and later king of Portugal Peter I./IV. and his wife, Archduchess Maria Leopoldine of Austria .

On April 28, 1844 in Rio de Janeiro, she married Prince Luigi of Bourbon-Sicily , Conte di Aquila, a son of Francesco I di Borbone , King of the Two Sicilies, and Maria Isabel de Borbón , Infanta of Spain.

Princess Januária died in Nice in 1901 at the age of 79 and was buried in the Père Lachaise cemetery (Div 90).
