Jasenka "Senka" Villbrandt (born June 6, 1951 in Zagreb , Yugoslavia ) is a German educator and politician for the Greens from Croatia . From 2004 to 2016 she was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives and spokesperson for social affairs .

Life

Villbrandt graduated from high school in Zagreb in 1969 and then studied pharmacy in Zagreb. In 1971 she went to Berlin to work for DeTeWe as a guest worker . From 1974 to 1980 she worked as an educator in the multinational “Muki” kindergarten in the Zehlendorf district . She then worked as an educator for the State of Berlin until 1983 in the pilot project “Socialization Aid for Foreign Children in Kindergarten”. Since 1985 she has been employed as a social worker in the meeting point and advice for women from the former Yugoslavia sponsored by the AWO Berlin (on leave since 2004). In 1988, she graduated in Educational Sciences at the University of Berlin as a graduate teacher from.

Villbrandt has been involved in the youth welfare area of the Alternative List since the mid-1980s . She has been a member of the Greens since 1989 and is now both state and federal delegates.

From 1992 to 1999 she was a member of BVV Schöneberg . In 2004 Villbrandt moved to the House of Representatives for Wolfgang Wieland, who was leaving , and was elected from the state list in 2006. There she was Deputy Chairwoman of the Committee on Integration, Labor, Vocational Training and Social Affairs and is the spokesperson for the parliamentary group for social policy, senior citizens and people with disabilities. In the 2011 parliamentary elections , Villbrandt was re-elected from a list.
