Jason Conley (born July 21, 1981 in San Antonio , Texas ) is an American basketball player .

Career

The 1.96-meter tall and 95-pound shooting guard played college basketball at the Virginia Military Institute and the University of Missouri . In the 2001/2002 season, Conley wrote a little piece of American basketball history when he became the first so-called freshman top scorer of all college basketball players in NCAA Division I with just under 30 points per game . After half of his sophomore year at the Virginia Military Institute, Conley moved to the University of Missouri, where he was not eligible to play the second half of the season and had to sit out according to the NCAA rules. In the next season he came to 7.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game (with an average of 18.2 minutes), in the fourth and last year then an average of 10.2 points and 5.9 rebounds.

Conley's first station as a professional basketball player was the Telekom Baskets from Bonn , where he played in the German basketball league from 2005 to 2008 . In his third season in Bonn, head coach Mike Koch entrusted him with the task of team captain. Due to ongoing injury problems, he did not sign a new contract in Bonn and went back to the USA in 2008 to devote himself entirely to his rehab and later to sign a new contract in professional basketball. At the beginning of 2009 Jason Conley signed a contract with the Finnish first division club Namika from Lahti and made a significant contribution to winning the national championship in 2009 with 16 points and 8 rebounds on average. For the 2009/2010 season, Jason Conley signed a one-year contract with WBC Raiffeisen from Wels in the Austrian basketball league .

In early 2011 Conley moved back to Finland and received a contract with the local first division club Kataja BC from Joensuu until the end of the season. After another year in Finland for NMKY from Lappeenranta , who also played in the Finnish first division, Conley moved to Romania in 2013 to the club from Timișoara .
