Career

Jason Walker signed in January 2007 a contract with the US record label "Word Music Publishing". Through the contract he came in contact with audio adrenaline front man Mark Stuart, who made him a name in the songwriting scene. After participating in several projects, he also started as a solo artist in 2009; so he released his debut album Jason Walker on September 1, 2009 . The resulting singles Down and Cry developed into a success. Both tracks have been viewed up to over 30 million times on Spotify. Down was part of the soundtrack of the first season of the American television series Vampire Diaries on The CW , after which it counted 130,000 sales.

In 2010, Walker won a Christian music award for his songwriting style. In 2011, two years after his first studio album, the second album, Midnight Starlight, followed in 2011 . The included song Echo was selected for the soundtrack of the third season of the Vampire Diaries . The album track Kiss Me was also very popular. His songs have also appeared in the Parks and Recreation , One Tree Hill , Private Practice and Bone series .

On March 28, 2013, Walker released his third studio album, Keep Me Watching . At the same time he made a change of style and oriented himself towards EDM music. In this context he got in touch with the Swiss DJ and producer DJ Antoine and produced the song Wild Side with him for his studio album We Are the Party . The title was released as a single on November 21, 2014 and reached the Swiss single charts straight away. Another collaboration appeared two years later. This is called Walk the Line and was part of his studio album Provocateur .

Also in 2016 there was a collaboration with the Dutch DJ duo Volt & State , which resulted in the song Athems , which was heavily influenced by progressive house and big room. Singles followed in the same style. There were collaborations among others Manse and Lush & Simon. After making the leap into the Beatport charts with his collaboration with Manse and Frank Pole, he achieved another success with Sunrise , a song he shared with the Norwegian DJ and producer Kygo . The song received over 30 million views on Spotify and over 10 million on YouTube. In addition, the track reached a placement in the Norwegian single charts.

With his side project The Swing, he contributed the music to a T-Mobile commercial. In February 2017, Walker released another EP. This is called Suddenly . The EP also featured a solo version of his DJ-Antoine collaboration Walk the Line . Like the style of the entire EP, this was influenced by pop.

For 2018, Walker announced that he would release a new single every month. It started with the song In Another Life (Goodbye) , which he took over distribution himself. With all the songs on this project, he moved away from the EDM style in which he had made a name for himself in previous years. In summer 2018, the song Writings on the Wall was released , a collaboration with the Dutch DJ duo Sick Individuals , who based the song on their breakthrough single I Am . Together they were able to achieve a placement in the Beatport charts.
