Javier "Chuletita" Antonio Orozco Peñuelas (born November 16, 1987 in Los Mochis , Sinaloa ) is a Mexican football player.

Life

Javier Orozco comes from a footballing family: his brother Luis is also a professional and currently plays for Correcaminos , his father was active in the 80s for CD Irapuato , among others .

Career

Javier Orozco played for CD Cruz Azul in Mexico City when he was young . In 2005, the then 17-year-old was appointed to the professional squad for the first time. On September 17, 2005, he finally made his debut in a 2-1 win at the UANL Tigres . At the time, Orozco was only 17 years old. The talent soon succeeded in making his way into the first team and eventually became a regular player and top performer.

In autumn 2010, interim coach Efraín Flores honored his achievements in the club and nominated him for the first time for the Mexican national team , for which he was initially used three times. Flores' successor José Manuel de la Torre did not initially rely on him.

In the 2011/12 season he scored eleven goals in eleven CONCACAF Champions League games. Today Orozco is the most successful goalscorer in tournament history. He has met a total of 24 times since 2008 (as of November 2013).

In April 2013 he won the Mexican Cup with Cruz Azul . In the final he was one of the penalty takers.

After three years he was considered for the first time for the national team at the CONCACAF Gold Cup in July 2013. He came up with four missions.

In summer 2013 he moved to league competitor Santos Laguna after eight years in the professional division of Azuls .

After not being considered for the World Cup in Brazil , he played two test games for Mexico in September 2014 and was also used in the two subsequent games.
