The JA Woll-Handels GmbH (or donated , an acronym for "Coats Suits wool") is a German branch network of discount stores , former Special Markets , based in Soltau . At the end of 2018 Jawoll operated 86 branches with a focus on northern and central Germany.

Company history

Rolf-Dieter Stern opened a first Jawoll special item market in Soltau as early as 1985, followed by another in Uelzen five months later. Due to the lack of success with only two locations, Stern decided to team up with Wolf-Hinrich Haltermann, Johannes Schaaf and Reiner Schulte. Together they founded JA Woll-Handels GmbH in 1987, with each managing director having his own locations. The trading company was originally a buyer of remaining stock , seasonal surpluses and goods from insurance claims. Goods were also imported from China, Pakistan, Indonesia, Vietnam and Turkey.

In 2007 the four former managing directors gave up their position to Stern's son Ingo Stern. Then Nils Hansen and Ralf Hartwich became managing directors in the same year. In addition to the Jawoll brand, after the takeover of the Fulda company in 2008 there was also HaFu, which means “Has everything for us”. On December 8, 2009, four companies merged into Jawoll Vertriebs GmbH, which was founded by Ingo Stern at the end of 2007, thereby giving up their branches.

In 2014, the Luxembourg holding SBR Europe, owner of the B&M Group, took over the company with an 80% majority. Subsequently, Jawoll Vertriebs GmbH merged with the remaining sales companies of Stern. In 2017, all HaFu stores were renamed to Jawoll in order to appear uniformly.

In 2017, Stern and Hansen resigned from their positions, followed by Hartwich in 2018 and Christian Müller became the new managing director.

The branches were rebuilt after the purchase, the company logo and range of goods were renewed.

In 2019 Christian Müller resigned from his position and Ralf Hartwich became the new managing director.
