Jayne Wisener (born May 19, 1987 in Ballymoney , Northern Ireland ) is a British actress and singer .

Personal

Wisener was born in Ballymoney and grew up in Coleraine , Northern Ireland, where she attended Coleraine High School for Girls. In 2005 she played Antrim in the Rose of Tralee competition . She also took part in the musical 4 Youth and a workshop production by Falling .

While starring in a youth production on West Side Story at the Millennium Forum in Derry, she was discovered by a talent scout who asked her to audition for the musical Sweeney Todd . Later, however, at the age of 19, Wisener was deemed too old to play the role of 15-year-old Johanna Barker. She then emailed the producers a few pictures showing her without make-up, and although "looking young doesn’t bring any favors to an actress, [she] was really happy with the result" and got the role. After studying for a year at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, she left it because she got the role in Sweeney Todd.

She made her stage debut in Great Britain in 2007 at the premiere of the musical Parade at Donmar Warehouse . She then appeared in the role of Amy in Boogeyman 3 and in November 2008 in the role of Sophie in the London West End production of the new musical The lost Christmas by Laurence Mark Wythe, which was performed at Trafgalgar Studios.

In 2009 she had a guest role in the series The Inbetweeners . From 2009 to 2010 she played the role of Mary Lennox in the play The Secret Garden at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. In 2010, Wisener starred Jay in the British film Life Just Is . In the film with Paul Nicholls, she plays a couple who want to save their complex relationship.

In May 2011 she played the young woman Sally in the television series The Runaway , who lives in a women's prison, based on Martina Cole 's novel of the same name.

In 2011 she played the nanny Bessie Lee in the novel "Jane Eyre". Another success came in 2012 with the TV drama 6Degrees produced by the BBC.
