Jazz Bakery

The Jazz Bakery is a jazz club founded in 1992 and located in Culver City , Los Angeles County .

The Jazz Bakery was (Avenue at 3233 Helms in 1992 in the former Helms Bakery Venice Boulevard ) in Culver City by jazz singer Ruth Price founded and run as a nonprofit organization. Well-known jazz musicians have performed in the venue since then; it originated there u. a. Recordings of live concerts by Yusef Lateef / Adam Rudolph , Lee Konitz , Denny Zeitlin / David Friesen , Sam Rivers , Nels Cline , Eddie Daniels / Roger Kellaway , Dave Frishberg , Ernie Watts and Bud Shank . After the old location of the Helms Bakery had to be given up in 2009, events followed at various venues in the Los Angeles area until the new premises (9814 Washington Blvd.) could be moved into. The architect Frank Gehry will design the new premises of the Jazz Bakery for free ; Drafts were presented to the public in 2015. Jeff Gauthier took over the musical direction in 2012 .
