background

As early as 1947, the young editors Joachim-Ernst Berendt and Dieter Zimmerle began with regular radio jazz broadcasts. Today there are around 3,000 hours of radio and 500 hours of television recordings by major jazz performers in the archives of Südwestrundfunk (SWR). With more than 400 ensembles and soloists, it is one of the largest unpublished collections of live jazz in the world.

The label publishes some of this material. The old tapes will be revised in high-end quality and released on CD, DVD and vinyl as well as as a download.

The label is not to be confused with the Cologne label JazzHausMusik or the Freiburg label Jazzhaus Records .
