Jeļena Rubļevska (born March 23, 1976 in Riga , Latvian SSR ) is a Latvian pentathlete and fencer .
Career
Jeļena Rubļevska took part in four Olympic Games . In 2000 in Sydney , she took eighth place in the first ever Olympic women's competition. Four years later, she reached in Athens behind Zsuzsanna Voros and before Georgina Harland the second place and won the silver medal. In Beijing in 2008 , she did not get past 23rd place. At the 2012 Games in London , she was eighth again.
At World Championships she was on the podium for the first time in 2005 after a third place in the individual. In 2013 she became vice world champion in the mixed relay.
In addition to the modern pentathlon, she also competes in fencing with a sword . Internationally she made her debut at the World Championships in 2005 and has since taken part in several World Championships. Her best result was a 44th place at the 2007 World Cup in Saint Petersburg .
