Jean-Baptiste Kiéthéga

Jean-Baptiste Kiéthéga (born May 10, 1947 in Yako ( Upper Volta , today Burkina Faso )) is an archaeologist and historian. He comes from the West African state of Burkina Faso and has been a professor at the University of Ouagadougou since 2005 .

Life

He first attended the primary school in Toma (Sourou), later the school facilities in Koudougou at the Lycée Philippe Zinda Kabore (LPZK) and graduated from there in 1967 with a baccalaureate . Kiéthéga then studied archeology and history in Dakar and at the Sorbonne in Paris . In 1998 he was awarded the Dutch Prince Claus Prize . In 2007, Jean-Baptiste Kiéthéga carried out an investigation into the missing weapons stocks by the French colonial army during the suppression of the uprisings between 1913 and 1916 in the Bwaba region .
