Jean-Charles Colombot
Jean-Charles Colombot (born April 14, 1719 in Besançon ; † November 1, 1782 ibid) was a French architect who built many buildings in the city of Besançon and in Franche-Comté .
Life
Jean-Charles Colombot was born the son of a tin maker . At first he worked as a draftsman for an architect and from 1740 he made his own architectural designs. In 1757 Jean-Charles Colombot was appointed "Architecte des eaux et forêts" by the state. Many buildings in Besançon and Franche-Comté were designed by Jean-Charles Colombot.
The son Claude Antoine Colombot , who also became a well-known architect, comes from their marriage in 1743 .
