Jean-Jacques Deyrolle

Jean-Jacques Deyrolle , also Jean Deyrolle (born August 20, 1911 in Nogent-sur-Marne , France , † August 30, 1967 in Toulon , France), was a French painter and graphic artist . He was an important exponent of abstract art after the Second World War .

Life

Jean-Jacques Deyrolle was best known for his abstract graphics and illustrations of sophisticated books. He is considered an important representative of the abstract geometric school . For many years he was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich .

In the 1950s and 1960s in particular, his art received international attention and recognition. For example, Jean Deyrolle took part in documenta II in Kassel in 1959 with some works in the printmaking department .
