Jean-Lou Treboux

Jean-Lou Treboux (* 1990 in Nyon ) is a Swiss jazz musician ( vibraphone , composition ).

Live and act

Treboux, who played percussion and drums as a child, studied in Lausanne until 2011 ; his special mentor was Steve Nelson . While still a student, he toured with his Jean-Lou Treboux Group , with whom he appeared at various jazz festivals, and later with François Lindemann's quintet and a band around Gabriel Zufferey . There are also duo appearances with Olivia Trummer . He has released two albums with his own compositions. Funded by a scholarship, Treboux spent most of 2013 and 2014 in New York. He was shaped by the collaboration with musicians like Eddie Henderson , Alvin Queen , Glenn Ferris , Sangoma Everett , Jochen Rückert , Michel Benita and Jacob Sacks .

Treboux won the Crédit Suisse Prize in 2011; In 2012 he received a prize at the Jazz à Juan Révélation competition .
