Jef Coolen
Jef Coolen (born October 7, 1944 in Beerse ; † January 29, 2016 in Rijkevorsel ) was a Belgian jazz trumpeter (also flugelhorn ).
Live and act
Coolen played in various big bands over the course of his music career and worked with jazz and pop musicians such as Donna Summer . He belonged to the BRT Jazzorkest under the direction of Etienne Verschueren , heard on his album Belgian Swing Jazz 1935-1945 , which was created in 1983. He also played as a soloist with the René Beckers Big Band ( On the Move ), the BRT Big Band and the Max Greger Orchestra. He also toured with Shirley Bassey , Julio Iglesias , Natalie Cole and Andy Williams . In the field of jazz he was involved in five recording sessions between 1981 and 1986.
