Jekaterina Vadimovna Ulanova ( Russian Екатери́на Вади́мовна Ула́нова , English transcription: Yekaterina Vadimovna Ulanova ; born August 5, 1986 in Ivanovo as Jekaterina Wadimowna Kabeschowa ) is a Russian volleyball player .

Career

Ulanova began her career in a sports school in her hometown. In 2001 she went to Olympia Schuja . She took part in several tournaments with the Russian juniors and was third in the 2004 European Championship. In the same year she moved to VK Dynamo Moscow . There she was the Russian runner-up in the first season. The Libera made their debut in the senior team , with which they finished third at the European Championships . In 2006 Dynamo won the league title and reached the final of the Top Teams Cup . She then moved to local rivals VK ZSKA Moscow , who became runner-up in 2007 and also reached the final in the Top Teams Cup. With the national team, Ulanowa repeated third place at the European Championships . After that she went to Leningradka Saint Petersburg . With the club she was third in the Challenge Cup in 2009 . The national team reached the final of the Grand Prix in the same year . In the 2009/10 season Ulanowa played for VK Dynamo Krasnodar and won the Russian Cup. In Japan, she became world champion with Russia in 2010 by beating Brazil in the final . She has been playing for VK Dynamo Kazan since 2010 . With the club she became Russian champions in 2011 and 2012. In London, Ulanova took part in the 2012 Olympic Games and came in fifth after the quarter-finals with Russia.
