Jemima Yorke, 2nd Marchioness Gray (born Campbell , born October 9, 1723 , † January 10, 1797 ) was a British peeress .

Life

She was the daughter of John Campbell , 3rd Earl of Breadalbane and Holland (1692–1782), from his first marriage to Lady Amabel Gray (1698–1727), eldest daughter of Henry Gray, 1st Duke of Kent .

On May 22, 1740 she married Philip Yorke , who inherited the title of 2nd Earl of Hardwicke from his father in 1764 .

When her maternal grandfather died on June 5, 1740, she inherited the title of 2nd Marchioness Gray from him due to a special inheritance regulation , as well as the hereditary title of 4th Baroness Lucas, also in the female line .

When she died in 1797 at the age of 73, her Marchiones title expired due to a lack of male descendants. Her baron title fell to her older daughter Amabel, who was also raised to Countess de Gray in 1816 .
