Jenő Takács Prize
The Jenő Takács Prize is a music prize from the Province of Burgenland .
The prize was named after the composer Jenő Takács (1902-2005) and was awarded as a composition prize from the year of his death until 2010. A jury decided on the winners in a composition competition advertised by the Burgenland cultural department . The works were then premiered in a winners' concert.
Since 2011, a music competition for young virtuosos from the Province of Burgenland has been held as part of the Burgenland state competition Prima la musica , and a scholarship with a first, second and third prize has been awarded. The award-winning concerts were in the Oberschützen cultural center .
In addition, an international Jenő Takács piano competition with the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz started in Oberschützen every two years from 2010 onwards.
