The Jenaplan School Nuremberg is an economic and social sciences high school in free sponsorship of Jenaplan-Gymnasium Nürnberg eG in Nuremberg district Schniegling and as a substitute school approved by the state.

history

The school arose from a parents' initiative that wanted to continue the Jenaplan pedagogy of the Jenaplan primary school in a secondary school. A cooperative was chosen as the organizational form and the Jenaplan-Gymnasium Nürnberg eG was founded in 2010. After the Bavarian Ministry of Culture granted approval to run a high school based on Jenaplan pedagogy in 2010, school operations began in September in the empty Quelle area in the Eberhardshof district of Nuremberg . However, after increased concentrations of pollutants were found in the complex, the school temporarily moved to the former Pfisterschule in Fürth's old town in December 2010 , which soon became too small for the growing number of students. In September 2013 the school therefore moved to the salary site in Herderstrasse in the Schniegling district , with which it has now found a permanent location.
