Jens-Uwe Zöphel (born June 23, 1969 in Prenzlau ) is a former German soccer player .
Athletic career
Jens-Uwe Zöphel began his sporting career at the BSG unit Templin with the first instructor Gerd Wegner. In the youth sector, he made the leap into the youth department of FC Dynamo in Berlin . The ten-time U18 junior national player offered himself to the 1st team via the second representation of the BFC, which was represented in the second highest division, the league .
In the league he completed after his debut in November 1988 until the dissolution of the East German league system in the summer of 1991 with the Berliners 19 league games. Zöphel made his debut in the team of the ten-time GDR soccer champions on matchday 12 of the 1988/89 season in a 1-1 home game against FC Carl Zeiss Jena . In the same game year, the then sports student won the final of the FDGB Cup against FC Karl-Marx-Stadt (1-0) with the Dynamos . In the semifinals against FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt , the 19-year-old midfielder had previously entered the final with a goal at 6: 1, while in his first league season and in the two following seasons in the top division of the eastern German state without Tor stayed.
After four years in the third division with the GDR record champions, now trading as FC Berlin, first in the NOFV amateur league and then in the newly created Regionalliga Nordost , Zöphel moved within the Regionalliga from Berlin to FC Energie Cottbus . There he had his most successful time in professional football after reunification. At the end of his second season he rose with the master of the northeast relay from the third highest division after the successfully designed relegation games against Hannover 96 in the 2nd Bundesliga . At the same time, he was with Eduard Geyer's team in the final of the DFB Cup , which was lost 2-0 to VfB Stuttgart .
After two years in the 2nd Bundesliga, he left the club in 1999 for 1. FC Union Berlin . Two years later he moved within the regional league from the northern to the southern season for SV Wacker Burghausen . Every year he worked for Dresdner SC , SV Germania 90 Schöneiche in the Brandenburg Association and Ludwigsfelder FC . In 2005, the midfielder also returned to BFC Dynamo for just one season . From November 2006 to 2010 Zöphel played for MSV 19 Rüdersdorf and then moved to the local neighbor SV 1919 Woltersdorf, where he ended his football career in 2013.
