In elementary school , Aasgaard and his classmates organized tournaments in StarCraft BroodWar . After losing interest in his own tournaments, Aasgaard stopped playing StarCraft | BroodWar. In 2002, his older brother bought a playstation dance mat, and Aasgaard devised a competitive strategy for dance games . With up to ten steps per second he was able to become Norwegian master in Dance Dance Revolution in 2004 . In 2010 Aasgaard joined the “Team Gamersleague” as a StarCraft II amateur and in 2011 began his studies in music technology. He gave up the plan to become a professional pianist - he comes from a musical family - in 2012 in favor of his career as a professional e-athlete. He achieved his first major success as a snute when he won the HomeStory Cup VI at the end of 2012 . Impressed by his performance, " Team Liquid " signed him in January 2013. Since that breakthrough, Snute has been recognized as one of the few non-Korean StarCraft II players who are consistently able to compete at the highest level. After disappointing results, Aasgard announced his retirement from progaming in September 2018. In terms of prize money, he is the second most successful European StarCraft II player in history, at $ 372,788.
