Akua Sena Dansua (born April 23, 1958 in Hohoe ) is a Ghanaian politician and diplomat .

education

Akua Sena Dansua attended Mawuli School in Ho and received an 'O' and 'A' level according to the General Certificate of Education . She was head girl. In 1982 she completed her journalism training at the Ghana Institute of Journalism . As a result, she completed a postgraduate course in communication science at the University of Ghana in 1990 . She is a Masters in Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration .

Career

From 1979 to 1980 Akua Sena Dansua was an electoral assistant at the Electoral Commission of Ghana . From 1983 to 1987 she was editor-in-chief at Nigerian Reporter . She has also worked as a reporter for the Weekly Spectator in Accra and a technical advisor to the National Council of Women and Development and a media advisor to the United Nations Development Program . In 1991 she received a scholarship from The Dag Hammarskjöld Fund for Journalists as the most promising journalist in Africa. With the scholarship she reported for three months from the 41st session of the United Nations General Assembly from New York City . She represented Ghana in 1995 at the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing . From July 1997 to December 2000, she was the executive director of the Kpando Municipal District . In 1998 she represented Ghana in the preparation of the World Conference on Governance in Manila .

Akua Sena Dansua was a member of the parliament of Ghana for three terms, from July 1, 2000 to July 1, 2013 . In 2003 she represented Ghana at the celebration of the Lok Sabha celebrating 50 years of democracy in India . From 2004 to January 2009 she was Deputy Whip of the National Democratic Congress in the Parliament of Ghana. In 2005 she represented Ghana in the review meeting of the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing + 10 at the United Nations. From February 2009 to January 2010 she was Minister for Women and Children Affairs, and in 2009 she headed the Ghanaian delegation to the review meeting of the Fourth World Conference on Women Beijing + 14 in New York. from 2010 to 2011 she was Minister for Youth and Sport. In 2010 Akua Sena Dansua accompanied the Ghanaian national soccer team to the 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa, where they were the only African team to reach the quarter-finals. From 2011 to 2013 she was Minister for Tourism. She has been the ambassador in Berlin since July 3, 2014 .
