Jens Dietrich

Jens Dietrich (* 1976 in Hofgeismar ) is a German dramaturge .

Life

Dietrich studied applied theater studies at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen with Heiner Goebbels . During his studies he assisted Richard Foreman at the Ontological Theater in New York and at the Schauspiel Köln and wrote his thesis on the work of the Finnish video artist Eija-Liisa Ahtila . He worked at the Freiburg Theater and at the theater discounter in Berlin, where he took over the artistic direction of Mustermesse 2 in 2006 . Since 2004 continuous collaboration with the director Angela Richter , with whom he developed numerous productions and in 2006 opened the Fleetstreet Theater in Hamburg. From 2007 to 2013 Dietrich was a core member of the International Institute of Political Murder (IIPM) founded by the author and director Milo Rau , which realized the re- enactment The Last Days of Ceausescus , the reenactment of the trial against the Romanian dictator couple. The project was u. a. nominated for the Berlin Theatertreffen , invited to the Festival d'Avignon and proposed for the Prix de Soleure as best documentary film at the Solothurn Film Festival. He was the producer and dramaturge of the play Hate Radio , which was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen 2012. In 2015 he curated the first retrospective of the Russian action artist Pjotr ​​Pawlenski at Kampnagel in Hamburg as part of the Nordwind Festival .

Jens Dietrich works as a guest dramaturge at Hebbel am Ufer Berlin, Kampnagel Hamburg, Schauspiel Köln , Museion in Bozen, FFT Düsseldorf, Garage X Vienna and at the Salzburg Festival .
