Jens Ludloff

Jens Ludloff (* 1964 in Haan ) is a German architect and university professor .

Life

family

Jens Ludloff comes from the Garsitzer Ludloff family and is the fourth generation of Heinrich Wilhelm Hermann Ludloff (1828–1898).

Studies and first activities

Jens Ludloff studied architecture at the Münster University of Applied Sciences , the Bremen Art School and in Krakow . He received his diploma from the Kraków Polytechnic University in 1994 and worked as a salaried project architect until 1998. From 1999 to 2007 he was a partner at Sauerbruch Hutton in Berlin , from 2004 as managing director. (Examples of implemented projects: police and fire station in the government district in Berlin, 2004, and construction of the Federal Environment Agency in Dessau , 2005.)

Teaching activities

In 2004 he received a teaching position at the TU Eindhoven . From 2010 to 2011 a teaching position followed at the University of Münster School of Architecture (msa). 2013–2014 he taught at the Instituto Superiore Politécnico (CUJAE) in Havana , and has been a professor at the University of Stuttgart at the newly established Chair for Sustainability, Building Construction and Design since 2014 .

Own architecture office

Jens Ludloff and his wife Laura Fogarasi-Ludloff have been running the architectural office Ludloff Ludloff Architekten in Berlin since 2007 . Ludloff has been campaigning for the preservation of architecturally significant industrial buildings for years. This includes the Multihalle in Mannheim. In 2018 he initiated a series of lectures on this building. [7]
