Ludloff

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ludloff is a family name.

origin

In the 16th and 17th centuries, the Ludloff family name developed from the name Ludolf due to umlaut and fluctuating name spellings .

An umlaut from f to ph is explained by the fact that in the 16th and 17th centuries the Greek spelling with ph was preferred to German f . Later the "strange" ph was replaced by the "folk" ff .

variants
