Jeremy Viner

Jeremy Viner (* 1985 in Bangor , Maine ) is an American jazz musician ( tenor saxophone , clarinet ).

Live and act

After attending Bangor High School and Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, Viner studied music at the New School in New York in the mid-2000s, before completing his Masters at the Juilliard School . He worked in the New York jazz scene in the John Hollenbeck Large Ensemble ( Eternal Interlude ; 2009), but also in the tenor saxophone quartet Battle Trance around Travis Laplante , with Curtis Macdonald , Travis Reuter ( Rotational Templates ), Bryan Carter ( Enchantment ), Kate Gentile and Mike Cottone ( Just Remember ); he was also a member of the ensembles of Steve Lehman , Tyshawn Sorey and Rafiq Bhatia . In the field of jazz, he was involved in eight recording sessions between 2009 and 2018. Viner lives in New York City. In Germany he worked a. a. with Pablo Held , Jonas Engel and Florian Herzog . Viner published the textbook First Lessons Alto Saxophone in 2011 ; First Lessons Clarinet followed in 2016 .
