Jérôme Baugnies (born April 1, 1987 in Soignies ) is a Belgian cyclist .

Athletic career

In 2004, Jérôme Baugnies finished seventh as a junior at Paris – Roubaix and ninth at the Tour of Flanders , and the following year he was third in the junior competition at Paris – Roubaix. In 2006 he received his first contract with the Bodysol-Win for Life-Jong Vlaanderen team . In his second year there, he and his teammates won the Volta a Lleida team time trial . He was also fourth in Paris Tours (U23) and second in the Tour of Flanders (U23) in 2008 and second in the national U23 road championship. At the UCI Road World Championships in 2009 , he finished fifth in the U23 race. In 2011 he came second in the round about the financial center Eschborn-Frankfurt , behind the German John Degenkolb . In 2013 he won the Kattekoers , the U23 event in Gent – ​​Wevelgem and the Belgian road championship for elite drivers without a contract.

From 2014 to 2019 Baugnies started for the Wanty-Groupe team .
