Jerzy Ambroziewicz

Jerzy Ambroziewicz (born January 1, 1931 in Warsaw ; † April 11, 1995 there ) was a Polish journalist and long-time correspondent in Rome .

Life

Ambroziewicz attended school in Warsaw and went during the German occupation of 1943-1944 the school underground. In addition, he was a member of the Szare Szeregi from 1943 . After the Second World War , from 1945 to 1948, he continued his education first in Wyszków and then in Warsaw. He belonged to the Association of Polish Scouts and from 1948 to the Związek Młodzieży Polskiej . After graduating in 1950, he studied at the University of Warsaw , where he obtained a diploma in 1953 .

After completing his studies, he worked from 1953 in the editorial department of the magazine Po prostu and, after its closure, for Dziennik Ludowy from 1959 to 1961. He also wrote for Prawo i Życie and Kulisy . Subsequently he was an editorial member of the Tygodnik Kulturalny from 1962 to 1968 and Argumenty from 1969 to 1972. He joined the PZPR in 1970. His work for Telewizja Polska began in 1972, where he became editor-in-chief of the journalism department. In addition, in 1976 he completed a two-year master's degree at the Department of Journalism at the University of Warsaw. He then worked from 1976 to 1979 as a correspondent for Polskie Radio and Telewizja Polska in Rome. After returning to Poland in 1980, he became editor-in-chief of Dziennik Telewizyjny . In 1983 he co-founded Przegląd Tygodniowy magazine . From 1984 to 1990 he worked as a correspondent in Rome. After his return he was director and board member of Mercedes-Benz AG in Poland

Ambroziwicz died on April 11, 1995.
