Jessica Cérival (born January 20, 1982 in Quimper , Brittany ) is a French shot putter .

Athletic career

In 2001 she finished fifth at the Junior European Championships in Grosseto . At the U23 European Championships in 2003 , she was sixth. In 2005 she won her first gold medal at the Francophonie Games in Niamey .

At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 2007 she was seventh and fifth at the Bangkok Summer Universiade . She took part in the 2009 European Indoor Championships , where she was eliminated after qualifying. She won the gold medal in the shot put at the Mediterranean Games in 2009, becoming the first French woman to win this title in 30 years. At the 2009 World Athletics Championships she was eleventh. In 2012 she was eliminated from qualifying for the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul . She also qualified for the 2012 European Championships , where she finished ninth.

In 2017, Cérival qualified for the final at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade , where she finished eighth.
