Jester Naefe

Jester-Helene Naefe (born September 12, 1924 in Vienna , † July 6, 1967 in Geretsried ) was a German film actress . She was particularly active as an actress in the 1950s.

Life

Naefe was born as the daughter of a truck driver in Vienna. At the age of 16 she went to Berlin to attend a theater school. Soon afterwards she appeared in the Schauspielhaus Breslau and in the Intimate Theater in Hamburg . In 1948 she was discovered by the Hamburg theater director Rolf Meyer for the film. Here she quickly made a career and acted in a total of sixteen films. Her best-known role was in 1955 when Lydia dances in The Congress .

Naefe was married twice. Her second marriage had two daughters, including the later film director Vivian Naefe . She lived in Rome from 1951 to 1953, but after separating from her second husband returned to Germany and lived in Munich. In 1959 Naefe was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis . She withdrew from the film business and from the public and died after the agonizing course of the illness in July 1967. She was buried in the Gartenberg cemetery in Geretsried .
