The Jeversche Wochenblatt (with the subtitle Friesisches Tageblatt ) is a German daily newspaper that is published by Brune-Mettcker Druck- und Verlagsgesellschaft mbH in the district town of Jever ( district of Friesland ). The circulation is 6534 copies, a decrease of 26.6 percent since 1998. The distribution area includes the Jeverland with the cities of Jever and Schortens as well as the municipalities of Wangerland , Sande and the island municipality of Wangerooge , the north of Wilhelmshaven and neighboring cities and municipalities. The sister publication is the Anzeiger für Harlingerland in the neighboring district of Wittmund.

The newspaper was founded as a weekly newspaper in 1791 and has been a daily newspaper since around 1890. This makes it one of the oldest newspapers in Germany that is still published. The editorial team produces the local section including local sports, the national cover pages are obtained from the Nordwest-Zeitung in Oldenburg. Front page headlines are mostly local and regional topics. The Jeversche Wochenblatt forms the Wilhelmshavener newspaper group with the neighboring newspapers Anzeiger für Harlingerland and Wilhelmshavener Zeitung .

The Jeversche weekly , like most German newspapers in recent years to rest lost. The number of copies sold has fallen by 26.6 percent since 1998. It is currently 6534 copies. This corresponds to a decrease of 2363 pieces. The share of subscriptions in the circulation sold is 93.3 percent.
