The Anzeiger für Harlingerland (AfH) is a German daily newspaper from East Friesland . The newspaper, which appears with the subtitle "Ostfriesisches Tageblatt", is based in Wittmund . The editorial team produces the local section itself, the national cover pages are obtained from the Nordwest-Zeitung . The sold edition is 11,458 copies, a decrease of 22.6 percent since 1998. The AfH is printed by Verlag Brune-Mettcker in Wilhelmshaven.

history

The AfH appeared for the first time on April 1, 1862. The newspaper was founded by Christian Ludolph Mettcker , a publisher from Jever, and Jakob Christian Ajold Bergner, a businessman from Wittmund. In the early days, the newspaper appeared twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays. By 1864 the size of the newspaper had increased from four to eight pages. From January 1866, the AfH appeared three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The distribution area extends over the district of Wittmund and some neighboring areas such as Wiesmoor and Dornum . It is named after the historic Harlingerland landscape in the north of the district . The sheet is published by the Brune-Mettcker printing and publishing company . Sister publications in the same publisher are the Jeversche Wochenblatt (Friesisches Tageblatt) in Jever and the Wilhelmshavener Zeitung in Wilhelmshaven (Wilhelmshavener newspaper group).
