Jiří Seifert
Jiří Seifert (born October 5, 1932 in Prague , † July 25, 1999 in Řevnice , Prague-West district ) was a Czech sculptor .
Life
Subsequent to studying at the arts and crafts school in Gablonz ( Northern Bohemia ) 1947-51, Seifert continued to study at the arts and crafts university in Prague with Bedřich Stefan until 1958 .
From 1958 he lived in Liberec (German: Reichenberg ) in northern Bohemia. There he worked with architects and the regional gallery. From 1970 on he lived in Řevnice near Prague, where he worked as a sculptor and restorer.
After 1970 Seifert was banned from exhibiting in what was then the ČSSR for about 20 years .
In 1981 he was able to realize an outdoor composition in honor of the architect Adolf Loos in Liberec and in 1987 sculptures in Geneva and in the Bulgarian city of Trjawna . Seifert also took part in sculpture symposia. He was married to Hana Seifertová.
