Jill Officer (born June 2, 1975 in Winnipeg , Manitoba ) is a Canadian curler . She currently plays in the position of Alternate and is a member of the St. Vital CC .

Career

At the Curling World Cup in 2005 and 2009, she finished fourth.

At the 2008 World Championships in Vernon , Officer won the gold medal with her team. The team finished second in the Round Robin. The page playoff game was lost to China with Skip Wang Bingyu 5-7, while the semi-final was won 9-8 against Japan. In the final against China, the team won 7-4

Officer won on March 28, 2010 with the Canadian team around Skip Jennifer Jones the bronze medal at the World Curling Championships . In Swift Current , Canada , the team defeated Team Sweden around Skip Cecilia Östlund with 9: 6 stones in the game for 3rd place .

At the 2014 Winter Olympics , Officer and Jennifer Jones' team won the gold medal.

At the 2015 World Cup in Sapporo , she moved into the final with the team led by Jennifer Jones, but lost there 3: 5 against the Swiss team around Skip Alina Pätz .

At the 2018 World Championships in North Bay , Canada , she became world champion with the Canadian team led by Jennifer Jones. The Canadians remained undefeated in the Round Robin, defeated the American team led by Jamie Sinclair in the semifinals and beat Sweden 7: 6 in the final with Skip Anna Hasselborg .

Officer has repeatedly for the province of Manitoba to the Canadian Women's Championships Tournament of Hearts participated. In 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2015 and 2018 she won the gold medal, in 2006, 2011 and 2013 the silver medal and in 2007, 2012 and 2016 the bronze medal.

In March 2018, she announced that she would only play as an alternate for Team Jones from the 2018/19 season. Jocelyn Peterman will take over her position as second .
