Jim L. Mora

James Lawrence "Jim" Mora (born November 19, 1961 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American American football coach. Most recently he was the head coach of the UCLA Bruins . He is the son of Jim E. Mora .

Career

During his studies, Mora played as a linebacker for the Washington Huskies .

San Diego Chargers

Mora got his first coaching position in 1985 with the San Diego Chargers , where he was initially responsible for quality control, but was later promoted to coach of the defensive backs .

New Orleans Saints

From 1992 to 1996, Mora coached the defensive backs under his father for the New Orleans Saints .

San Francisco 49ers

Mora worked for the San Francisco 49ers from 1997 to 2003 , including the last five seasons as a defensive coordinator .

Atlanta Falcons

From 2004 to 2006, Mora was Head Coach of the Atlanta Falcons . In his first season he brought the Falcons after 11 wins into the play-offs , where they came to the NFC Championship Game . He was named NFC Coach of the Year for this. In the following seasons, the Falcons missed the play-offs and Mora was sacked.

Seattle Seahawks

In 2007, Mora was hired by the Seattle Seahawks as assistant head coach and coach of the defensive backs. After Mike Holmgren resigned as head coach after the 2008 season, Mora was named head coach of the Seahawks. In the 2009 season he could only achieve 5 wins in 16 games, which is why he was fired in January 2010.

UCLA Bruins

On December 10, 2011, Mora was named Head Coach of the UCLA Bruins . On November 14, 2017, he was released from his duties. In the six seasons under Mora, he scored 46 wins and 30 losses. In 2013 he had it in a victory for the PAC-12 South. He achieved four of the five best offensive performances by the Bruins during his tenure.

Others

Between his release from the Seahawks and his employment by the Bruins, he worked as an analyst for the NFL Network .
