After the 2014/15 season, and a total of 10 years in the franchise Thrashers / Jets moved Slater to Europe and signed a one year contract with the option Genève-Servette HC from the National League A . After two years at Servette, Slater moved to Friborg-Gottéron within the NLA in 2017 .
