Jim Varney

James Albert "Jim" Varney, Jr. (born June 15, 1949 in Lexington , Kentucky , † February 10, 2000 in White House , Tennessee ) was an American actor .

Life

Varney attended Murray State University after high school . Even during his school days, he took part in theater performances. From the mid-1970s he played in various television series , from 1977 to 1978 he played Seaman Broom in the series Use Petticoat .

In 1980 he gained national fame in the United States through the character "Ernest" he developed and used in various commercials. The character proved so successful that after a few video releases, a television series and a number of feature films were made. The first movie chaos in the camp played 25 million US dollars a.
