Werner von Aesch

Werner von Aesch (born December 4, 1927 in Sumatra ; † December 29, 2008 in Schlieren ) was a Swiss cabaret artist and co-founder of the Cabaret Rotstift .

Werner von Aesch was the son of the Swiss mechanic Adolf von Aesch (1876–1963) and his wife Anna. Adolf von Aesch worked as a manager of the Indragiri plantations in Rengat, Riau . Werner von Aesch came to Switzerland when he was seven. From 1935 to 1940 he attended primary school in Suberg, municipality of Grossaffoltern , in the canton of Bern; He completed the sixth grade of primary school in the Bruggen district of St. Gallen . From 1941 to 1944 he spent three years at the Bürgli secondary school in St. Gallen. After completing the Evangelical Teachers' Seminar in Zurich-Unterstrass from 1944 to 1949 , he taught in Schlieren from 1950 to 1988. There he founded the Rotstift cabaret together with colleagues in 1954. Three years later, the Schlieremer Chind children's choir was formed with the local students .

From Aesch's sayings like "Vo Planig kei Ahnig!" (No idea about planning!) Or “If you want to be as beautiful as I am, it's difficult. Bring it fasch nuously weigh. Werner von Aesch led the children's choir until his retirement and then handed it over to his son Martin. After Cabaret Rotstift's last tour in 2002, he occasionally made individual appearances under the pseudonym "Jimmy Muff".

In 1950 he married Elsbeth Wehrli, with whom he raised three children. Von Aesch died of a stroke at the age of 81 .
