Jin Akanishi

Jin Akanishi ( Japanese 赤 西 仁 , Akanishi Jin ; born July 4, 1984 in Chiba Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese singer / songwriter and former member of the J-pop boy band KAT-TUN . He continued to work as a solo artist and idol with Johnny & Associates until 2014. In 2014 he left Johnny & Associates. In addition to his career in the music business, he is also active as an actor .

biography

1998–2006: Early career

Akanishi was born in Chiba on 1984 and has a younger brother who is also active in the entertainment industry under the name Fuuta. The family moved to Tokyo when Jin was in first grade. While still at school, in 1997, a classmate sent a photo of Jin to the idol magazine Myojo, where it was featured in the "Cool Classmates" section. Akanishi then showed interest in the entertainment industry, so in 1998 his mother sent an application for his position to Johnny's Entertainment . Although he failed the casting on November 8 of that year, he was told he could stay when he tried to return his number badge to an elderly gentleman who turned out to be President Johnny Kitagawa.

At Johnny's Entertainment the boy learned to dance and sing and became a Johnny's Jr. in 2000. As a junior he was a member of the dance groups Musical Academy Dancing (also MAD), J2000 and Beautiful American Dreams (BAD). Domoto Koichi of the produced also by Johnny's group Kinki Kids started off in 2001 in addition to Jin five more boys among the young talents from the backing dancers for his appearances on the music show Pop Jam radio station NHK should be. 2006–2009: KAT-TUN

Besides Kazuya Kamenashi , Akanishi was one of the two main singers in the group. He composed Love or Like for KAT-TUN and the songs Care , Hesitate , Murasaki and Pinky for his solo appearances .

The Japanese public was amazed when Akanishi announced at a press conference in October 2006 so shortly after his debut that he would be traveling to the USA for an indefinite period of language study, which ultimately lasted from October 12, 2006 to April 19, 2007 . Therefore he was not involved in the single Bokura no Machi de and the album Cartoon KAT-TUN II You . He returned to the tour on April 21, 2007. In July 2010, Johnny Kitagawa announced that Akanishi would officially leave KAT-TUN that same year to continue working on his solo career.

2009 to date: solo activities

While Akanishi was still an official member of KAT-Tun, he undertook several solo projects. For one thing, like other members of the group, he starred in television drama . In 2009 he played in the film Bandage , for which he also appeared as a guest at the Tokyo Girls Collection on September 5, 2009 and sang the themed sing of the film. This was the debut of the LANDS project with Takeshi Kobayashi, the producer of Mr. Children . Kobayashi wrote the song and lyrics for the single, while Nobuaki Kaneko from the band Rize was on drums. The single package included a ticket for a concert by LANDS, which took place on January 16, 2010 in Tokyo Prefecture . LANDS album Olympos was released on November 30th.

Furthermore, Akanishi was already on the road solo in early 2010 and had his first tour entitled Akanishi Jin Star Live You & Jin from February 7th to 28th, 2010, where he held 32 concerts. As part of the tour, he made the leap across the pond, where he played three sold-out shows in Los Angeles under You & Jin and announced an American tour. The withdrawal from KAT-TUN was announced in July.

On the America tour with the title Yellow Gold Tour 3010 , 14 songs were sung entirely in English, which were composed by Jin. On December 9, 2010, another step was announced: Jin signs a contract with Warner Music Group and Warner Music Japan . After the tour, Jin followed up with 12 concerts in Japan, including a. in large halls such as the Osaka-jō Hall , the World Memorial Hall , the prestigious Nippon Budokan and the huge Saitama Super Arena .

Jin's first solo single, Eternal , hit stores on March 2, 2011 and was released by Warner Music Group Japan. His US debut single is called Test Drive and is a collaboration with singer and songwriter Jason Derulo . It was produced by JR Rotem . Jin's first American tour Yellow Gold Tour 3011 has been available on DVD since March 11, 2011.

Others

Jin Akanishi has a younger brother, Reio Akanishi (born December 11, 1987 in Chiba, Japan), who also works in the entertainment industry under the stage name Fuuta (Japanese 太). Since February 2, 2012, Jin Akanishi has been married to singer, model and actress Meisa Kuroki . Their daughter was born in September 2012.
