Meisa Kuroki

Satsuki Shimabukuro ( Japanese 島 袋 さ つ き , Shimabukuro Satsuki ; born May 28, 1988 in Nago , Okinawa ), better known by her stage name Meisa Kuroki (Japanese 黒 木 メ イ サ , Kuroki Meisa ), is a Japanese actress , model and singer . She is represented by the Sweet Power agency and is under contract with Sony Music Japan . Among other things, she worked for the popular fashion magazine JJmodeled and is currently the Japanese representative for Giorgio Armani . She played in numerous television series ( Dorama ), commercials, films and stage productions.

Life

Born to a Japanese mother and father of half-Japanese and half-Panamanian descent and the youngest of four sisters, she was discovered by a fashion scout during her sophomore year of middle school in Okinawa. From then on, she began to model exclusively for the popular fashion magazine JJ . While studying at the Okinawa Actors School, she was a member of the studio group BBWaves, which disbanded in 2007. Kuroki has been married to the Japanese singer and idol Jin Akanishi since February 2, 2012 .

Career

In February 2004, Kuroki made her acting debut in the first leading role in the play Kita-ku Tsuka Kōhei Gekidan Butai or Atami Satsujin Jiken Pyongyang Kara Kita Onna Keiji . Since her debut, she has starred in theater performances, films and doramas. In 2006, she played in Chakushin Ari: Final ( Engl. "The Call 3 - Final"), the last part of Chakushin Ari series with. In 2007 she received the “Newcomer of the Year” award at the 44th Annual Golden Arrow Awards. That same year she starred in Fumihiko Sori's CGI anime film Vexille . Kuroki was also seen with her close friend Maki Horikita in the photobook missmatch: Maki Horikita x Meisa Kuroki x Kishin Shinoyama (photographed by Kishin Shinoyama) and the short film short film: Kimi no Yubisaki . In 2009 Meisa was selected for the Japanese face of the international brand Emporio Armani , for which she also appeared at numerous events around the world. She also played in Dance, Subaru! , starring the real- life version of Masahito Soda's manga Subaru , produced by film producer Bill Kong , and in Assault Girls , directed by Mamoru Oshii . In 2010 she was selected for the international face of the French cosmetics brand L'Oréal .

music

Kuroki sang for the soundtrack of her 2007 film, Crows Zero , in which she also starred. On June 21, 2008, their debut single "Like This" was released on Sony Music Records . It was announced on February 17, 2009 that their first Extended Play (EP), "Hellcat", would be released on April 8, 2009. Meisa's second EP, Attitude, was released in January 2010. In January 2011 her first studio album "Magazine" was released.
