Jischiwzi ( Ukrainian Їжівці ; Russian Иживцы Ischiwzy , Romanian Igeşti , German (until 1918) Idzestie ) is a village in the south of the Ukrainian Oblast Chernivtsi with about 3400 (2004), other sources according to almost 6000 inhabitants.
The village, first mentioned in documents in 1428, is the only place of the district council of the same name in Storoschynez Rajon .
The village is 18 km south of Rajonzentrum Storozhynets between the villages Tschudej the west and Nyschni Petriwzi the east near the Ukrainian- Romanian border. It is located at an altitude of 383 m on the bank of the Seretel ( Серетель ) river, which flows into the Sereth via the Malyj Seret ( Малий Серет ) . The territorial road T – 26–08 and the Hlyboka – Berehomet railway line run past Yishivtsi .
