Nyschni Petriwzi ( Ukrainian Нижні Петрівці ; Russian Нижние Петровцы Nischnije Petrowzy , Romanian Pătrăuții de Jos , German (until 1918) Unterpetroutz ) is a village in the south of the Ukrainian Oblast Chernivtsi with about 3000 inhabitants (2006).
The village, first mentioned in historical documents on July 11, 1610, is located at an altitude of 412 m on the bank of the Seretel River ( Серетель ), which flows over the Malyj Seret ( Малий Серет ) into the Sereth , opposite the village of Verkhny Petrivtsi . Nyschni Petriwzi located in Rajon Storozhynets 24 km south of Rajonzentrum Storozhynets near the border with Romania . Along the village runs the territorial road T-26-34 and the railway line Hlyboka – Berehomet , where the village has a train station.
Nyschni Petrivzi is the administrative center of the district council of the same name , to which the neighboring village Arshytsya ( Аршиця ) also belongs to the south .
