Joël Fröhlicher (born April 5, 1982 in Solothurn ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who has been under contract with EHC Basel in the MySports League since 2018 .
Career
Joël Fröhlicher began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth of the EHC Zuchwil Regio , before he was hired as a junior player at HC Davos . For the professional team made his debut in the 1999/2000 season in the National League A , where he was used in one game each of the regular season and the playoffs. During his time at HC Davos, with whom he became Swiss champions for the first time in the 2001/02 season , the attacker played parallel for the second division clubs SC Herisau and GCK Lions , as well as their league rivals EHC Chur . In the summer of 2002, the former international junior player switched to HC Lugano , with whom he also won the Swiss championship in the 2002/03 season.
From 2003 to 2005 Fröhlicher ran for the SCL Tigers in the NLA, and from 2005 to 2008 for the EHC Biel in the NLB, where he was the second division champion three times in a row with Biel in 2006, 2007 and 2008. In the 2007/08 season, the Swiss and his team rose to the NLA, but left the team despite the success and instead joined his ex-club SCL Tigers. In addition, he completed a total of seven games in the National League A for Biel in the 2008/09 season, in which he scored two points, including one goal. In the 2012/13 season he signed with Lausanne HC in the National League B, with which he won the NLB championship in his premiere season and was promoted to the National League A. In July 2013 Fröhlicher signed a two-year contract with SC Langenthal .
International
For Switzerland , Fröhlicher took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2000 , where he finished fourth with his team.
