Joachim Brandl

Joachim Brandl (* 1976 in Graz ) is an Austrian cabaret artist , author and television presenter .

Life

After studying English, Joachim Brandl worked as an editor for the Kleinen Zeitung in Graz and as a spokesperson for Antenne Steiermark .

From 2004 he performed together with Martin Buchgraber as the cabaret duo Buchgraber & Brandl , in 2008 they were awarded the Golden Cabaret Nail and in 2009 the program prize of the Austrian Cabaret Prize. He also wrote with Buchgraber from 2008 to 2010 for the satirical magazine Rappelkopf and in 2011 published the book Vienna: In Her Majesty's Beisl , together they took over the interim management of the Vienna Theater am Alsergrund in 2010 .

In autumn 2011, Brandl and Tom Walek received their own knowledge program called “Hirn mit Ei” on the ORF comedy series “ Thursday Night ”, in which four prominent candidates and the audience in the hall were involved in popular science experiments. At the 2012 Romy Awards , he and Walek were nominated in the category of most popular comedian / cabaret artist .

Since the 2013/14 season ( let yourself go! ) Brandl has been playing at the Wiener Kabarett Simpl , where he was in the 2014/15 program Muddling through or muddling through? , 2015/16 in Please all get off! and 2016/17 in Darn and Sewn up! and since the 2017/18 season he has acted as conférencier in Im freefall , succeeding Claudia Rohnefeld . Before that, he also worked as an author for Simpl and wrote for the revues “Ich bin viel” (2009), “After the Crisis” (2010) and “Under the Carpet” (2011), as well as the 2014/15 and 2015 programs / 16. He has been writing the column One and a half women for Eltern magazine since 2013, and published it in book form in 2016.

From September 19, 2017, he presented the satire program Tagespresse aktuell on ORF in the role of anchorman Joachim Fuchs .
