Joachim Burkard

Joachim Burkard (* 1967 in Mannheim ) is a German clergyman and Catholic theologian .

Life

Joachim Burkard studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the Collegium Borromaeum in Freiburg im Breisgau . On May 15, 1994 he was ordained a priest by Archbishop Oskar Saier . First he worked as a chaplain in the parishes of St. Bonifatius and Herz Jesu in Karlsruhe . From 1996 he headed the school pastoral ministry in the Archbishop's Pastoral Office in Freiburg as a youth pastor and was spiritual director of the Catholic Student Youth (KSJ) . In 2001 he became diocesan youth pastor and head of the youth pastoral department in the Archbishop's Pastoral Office. He was in 2002 Werner Tzscheetzsch at the theological faculty of the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg on school pastoral for Dr. theol. PhD. In 2012 he was appointed regional dean of the Bodensee-Hochrhein region based in Singen (Hohentwiel) and at the same time became a cooperator in the Singen pastoral care unit.

In the 2015 winter semester he was appointed to the professorship for pastoral theology at the Catholic Foundation University in Munich - Benediktbeuern department .

Since May 2016 he has been director of the "Archbishop's Foundation St. Matthias Wolfratshausen-Waldram ".
