Joachim Goldberg (* 1956 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German financial market analyst and author.

After completing an apprenticeship as a banker, Goldberg worked for Deutsche Bank for 25 years . a. as a foreign exchange trader , since 1983 specialized in technical analysis, which was still relatively unknown in Germany at the time . Since he was not satisfied with the explanatory models of technical analysis, he turned to behavioral finance , which was also largely unknown in Germany at the time , from 1996 to 2000 for Deutsche Bank, and from 2000 in the company Cognitrend, which he co-founded . Goldberg started in Germany for the first time in 1997 with surveys of market sentiment among short and medium-term market participants, since 2002 in cooperation with the Frankfurt Stock Exchange .

With his co-authored book on behavioral finance, which has been published in its fourth edition since 1999 and has been translated into English, Japanese and Chinese, and his weekly television appearances on n-tv , DAF and earlier Bloomberg TV and CNBC Europe , Goldberg is considered the best-known expert on the subject Behavioral Finance in Germany. In addition, he wrote a monthly column for several years in the Börsen-Zeitung , writes guest articles for the stock exchange magazine Börse Online and gives lectures. Goldberg has been running a behavioral finance / economics blog with "blognition.de" since 2010 and is its main author. He was also co-author of the course A Practical History of Financial Markets for the Edinburgh Business School , which is now also used for training as a Chartered Financial Analyst .
