Joachim Wahnschaffe

Joachim Wahnschaffe (born January 19, 1941 in Halberstadt ) is a German politician . As a member of the SPD , he was a member of the Bavarian state parliament from 1990 to 2008 .

Career

Wahnschaffe grew up in Halberstadt and West Berlin . After graduating from high school in West Berlin in 1961, he began studying law in Heidelberg, which he continued in Munich. The trained lawyer initially worked as a public prosecutor and judge in Regensburg before moving into the Bavarian state parliament in October 1990. In 1972 he joined the SPD, and in 1978 he was elected to the Regensburg City Council for the first time , to which he was a member until 2003. In 2003 he moved to Eilsbrunn in the municipality of Sinzing . Since 2008 he has been a councilor in Sinzing and a member of the district council of the Regensburg district .

From 1996 to 2008 he was chairman of the social policy committee in the state parliament. For the state elections in 2008 he no longer ran for the city of Regensburg - as before - but as a direct candidate for the district of Regensburg-Land-Ost . However, he narrowly missed re-election to the state parliament.
