Joan Chelimo Melly

Joan Chelimo Melly (born November 10, 1990 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in road running.

In 2014 she won the half marathon competition of the Wachau Marathon and the Cardiff half marathon .

In 2017 she finished second in the Eldoret half marathon and won the Berlin half marathon . A second place in the 15 km of Le Puy-en-Velay was followed by a victory in the BAA 10K ( Boston ) and a second place in the Copenhagen Half Marathon was followed by a triumph at the Boston Half Marathon .

In 2018 she finished fourth in the RAK half marathon , third in the Copenhagen half marathon, won the Prague half marathon and the Montferland run (15 km) in 's-Heerenberg (Netherlands).

At the half marathon on October 27, 2019 in Valencia , Chelimo Melly finished third with 66:09 minutes behind the Ethiopian Senbere Teferi (65:32 minutes) and the Dutch woman Sifan Hassan (65:53 minutes). At the beginning of December she was narrowly defeated in the demanding Montferland Run over 15 km in 's-Heerenberg in the Netherlands , second behind Tsigie Gebreselama (Ethiopia).
