Joanna de Vincenz

Joanna de Vincenz (born July 1, 1967 in Stargard Szczeciński , Poland ) is a German-Polish journalist . She lives in Heidelberg and Hamburg .

Life

Joanna de Vincenz grew up near Stettin. At the age of 18 she moved to live with her family in Hamburg. She studied Slavic Studies and Eastern European History at the University of Göttingen (1987–1992) and the University of Frankfurt am Main (1992–1994).

In her journalistic activity she mainly focuses on the topic of German-Polish historical and cultural relations. She publishes (under the names Joanna Skibinska , Joanna de Vincenz or Joanna Vincenz ) in the papers Rzeczpospolita , Tygodnik Powszechny , Gazeta Wyborcza , Borussia , Süddeutsche Zeitung , Frankfurter Rundschau and on the radio in Polski Magazyn Radiowy on SFB, Deutsche Welle and Deutschlandfunk .

In 2001 and 2002 she was nominated for the German-Polish Journalism Prize, in 2001 for the text in Tablica na murze milczenia ( transl . The memorial plaque on the Wall of Silence ), in 2002 for the text Wywolane z pamieci ( transl . Evoked from memory ).
