Joaquín Moreno (born May 22, 1973 in Mexico City ) is a former Mexican soccer player who mainly played in defensive midfield and began working as a soccer coach after his active career.
career
Moreno spent his first professional years at his "hometown club" Club Deportivo Social y Cultural Cruz Azul , with whom he won the CONCACAF Champions' Cup twice in 1996 and 1997, as well as the championship title and the cup competition . In the jersey of the Cementeros he also managed his only first division goal, which he scored in the away game at Deportivo Toluca (2: 3) on April 29, 2000.
Then Moreno was under contract with Puebla FC between 2001 and 2003 , before ending his active career with Gallos Blancos Querétaro in the 2003/04 season .
After his active career, he first coordinated the soccer school in La Noria, Xochimilco of his former club Cruz Azul, for which he has since worked in various functions. Afterwards he coached various junior teams of the Cementeros and in 2014 he was entrusted for the first time as head coach of a professional club, the farm team Cruz Azul Hidalgo .
After the dismissal of Sergio Bueno and before his successor Tomás Boy took office , Moreno looked after the first division team of Cruz Azul on September 30, 2015 in the home game against Club Atlas (1: 1) as interim coach.
